One of my favorite things in this world is music. I know a lot of people say that, but no, really. I love music. Because of that fact, I’ve always made it a point to go to record stores and check stuff out. I don’t even buy anything half the time I just like looking around and seeing what stands out to me so I can listen to it later. Coincidentally I also love clothing. I’m always looking to add to my hoodie and jacket collection despite living in Texas. I’m in a constant cycle of getting rid of and replacing my wardrobe. So what better place in the world is there for me than Doc’s Records & Vintage.

One half of the store is records and cd’s. Spanning every genre you can think of, and every band you can imagine. Every time I go I seem to lose my indie cred because I see an obscure band that I thought nobody listened to, let alone carried in a store. In this case it was Cindy Lee’s Diamond Jubilee, which is my favorite record of 2024. Being briefly awestruck that I had found this gem I quickly grabbed it to buy before I left. Sometimes I go in here and just glance around, with no intention of buying anything. Just being in the environment is fun itself. There’s always music coming from a record player up front and it sets the mood to browse pretty well. There’s also a small stage in the middle of the store that they will have live music on sometimes too.
The other side of the store sells vintage clothing. It’s set up in a way that there are multiple sellers who each have their own section set up offering their things. Some sellers focus on t-shirts and jeans, while others may focus on jackets or shoes. Prices vary as each seller has their own markup but overall it’s nothing too crazy, considering prices I’ve seen at other markets. My favorite seller has a selection of cowboy boots that I swing by to check out on a weekly basis , hopefully get lucky and snag a pair of Lucchese Boots in my size. No luck yet! There’s also vendors that sell knick knacks, trading cards, pop culture figurines, and more. It’s easy to spend some time here and get lost in it all.

If you’re the type of person that likes music and clothes, then there literally is no better spot than this. It has such a unique vibe to it that I haven’t encountered anywhere else and for that I keep coming back. Come check out Doc’s Records and Vintage sometime soon and let us know what you think. Peace and love y’all, talk you guys later.
